Secularism in terms spiritualization and historical process of assimilation

Synthesis ,integration and assimilation has been the hallmark of Civilization of Bharat since ancient times. Motion of objective resolution by Pandit, Nehru in Constituent Assembly  refers to two important aspects. One is restoring the dignified position of  Bharat  in the comity of civilized nations, and  secondly ,recognition, acknowledgement and promoting the values of ancient land. These two words civilized Nation and ancient land are compendious terms which needs deliberations.

First ,civilize nations means the way of living  aspiring the ideals, however high they might be .  Secondly, the ancient land refers to the Indian civilizations, which can claim the roots in vedic times and Mohajodaro Civilisation  being the part of the illustrations made by Nandlal Bose duly signed by members of Constituent Assembly. It is not an exaggeration that the Preamble is the gate of entry to understand Constitution of Bharat derlining  aspiration, intention of framers of the constitution of Bharat. Soul of Preamble can best be understood by way of honoring the debate on Objective Resolution .It is important to mention that the objective resolution laid down  the ways, methods, tools, instruments, rights etc, to achieve the goal of preserving the eternal values of ancient land that is Bharat. These values are ekam sat vipra bahudha vadanti, Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, Ekam bahusyam.

There is no disagreement on the fact that six philosophies  of Bharat signify mutual respect  with reciprocity instead of mutual tolerance. Six philosophies are  Samkhya, Yoga, Nyaya, Vaisheshika, Mimamsa, and Vedanta. Bharat can boast of six school of philosophies asmuch as philosophies  flowing like rivers parallel to each other, which signifies   peaceful, co-existence and the spirit of freshness into inquiry of  unknown. This phenomena is best referred as historical process of assimilation where violence and bigotry  have no place in the scheme of the culture and civilization. This is the distinct feature of United Bharat for which the struggle for independence was waged against the British empire. But unfortunately conflict of two civilization resulted into partition of United Bharat .

Creation of Pakistan can be seen in two ways. First, the conflict between the natives of this ancient land and the invaders professing the practices , religion etc  not in rhythm with the natives following Sanatan Dharm. Second is the compromise in the form of parting with the idea of United Bharat. The logo of Constituent  Assembly represents United Bharat. But the question unanswered, whether the imposed partition achieved the goal. The answer is always in negative today. After seven decades, there is a pressing need to do introspection with honesty and sincerity because vote bank based analysis which will result in dire consequences. The Muslim should  respect the compromise of the Hindus in terms of the Partition of United Bharat and willingly and voluntarily participate in the historical process of assimilation for mutual coexistence.Absence of such gesture will always be seen with fear, speculations by the natives of this ancient land.

The debate of the making of the constitution emphatically takes to the logical conclusion that in the Republic Bharat  the alleged  minority was expected to follow the historical process of assimilation in terms of customs traditions language. Reason is very simple because the alleged minority is the converted population from the majority population of ancient Bharat. This does not  eclipses right to practice personal religion. Some of the illustrations are necessary to highlight the conduct of the ruling party and the role of the institutions acting like  bottle necks and the road blocks to the aspiration of the constituent  assembly like objection to the uniform civil code ,ruling party overruling the Apex Court judgment in Shah Bano for maintenance. Establishment of all Bharat Muslim Personal Law Board should have promoted the goal of historical process of assimilation, but defacto it has assumed the role, which is against the Unity and integrity of Bharat .Opposition to triple talaq and the judgment of the Apex Court  on the Ram Jan Bhoomi are self speaking that AIMPLB is  against the cherished values of constitution and  anti social in nature.

This reminds the most daring comments  of the Dr Ambedkar on the character of non native religions during the debate on the compulsory teaching of comparative study of religions in education institutes. Similarly  disagreement on the issue of respect to the sentiments on the cow ,objections to procession on  Navratri,  objection to singing of the national song Vande Mataram ,objection on the music outside mosque, objection to population control policy etc. These issues  should have been dealt in the  Republic Bharat immediately, during the first decade of independence. The ministry of minority should have made endeavor to propose a plan to address these issues in this direction . But there is an utter failure on part of the ministry of minorities on these issue which are the concerns of the society at large.

Solution of the issue lies in the true definition, scope and nature of mischievous term, commonly known as secularism. It is high time that this term be interpreted as per the debate and the understanding of the members of the constant assembly. The reasons for non inclusion of this terms in the Constitution adopted by the Constituent Assembly on 26 November 1949 be underlined by all the stakeholders like Legislature , Judiciary , Executive and media. Secularism be  promoted which embraces  spirituality and historical process of assimilation .Such vision and the attempt will be truly  honoring the culture, civilization history and heritage of ancient land that is Bharat Here lies the solution of the peaceful co existence of  we, the people of Bharat.
