Remembering the Emergency on 25th June : Dark Days of Free India SAMVIDHAN HATYA DIWAS 25 JUNE - This day shall be the day to know the misuse and abuse of the Constitution of India. The following points needs to be discussed by every citizen of India on Proclamation of Emergency on 25 June 1975 - 1. The Jurisdiction of the Supreme Court and the High Court in respect of Judicial review and issue of Writs was curtailed. 2. Fundamental Rights guaranteed by Article 20(one person could be punished for one more than once at the whims and fancies of the government against the principle of double jeopardy ) and Article 21(Right to Life) were suspended. 3.
