Is oath "in the name of God" secular?
Droupadi Murmu takes oath as 15th President of India. She took oath in the name of God. She was escorted by Vice-President and Chairman of the Rajya Sabha M Venkaiah Naidu, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to the Central Hall. Droupadi is the youngest person to take oath as the President of India. It is being debated that whether oath in the name of God is secular as per the soul and spirit of Constitution of India .It is imperative to know the truth behind this term "secularism" in India .Meaning and interpretation was debated in the Assembly on several occasions.
